Autistic children learn differently — not less. Krisie combines ABA with personalised educational strategies to build communication, academic, and social-learning skills. Support is delivered in home and school settings across Greater Vancouver, with sessions available in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
"Autistic children don't fail to learn — the environment fails to meet them where they are. I design the environment around the child."
Functional communication training (FCT) woven into academic learning to build expressive skills alongside reading and writing.
Structured, visual, and systematic approaches to reading that align with how autistic children process and retain information.
Visual and pattern-based teaching that often plays to autistic strengths in systematic thinking and rule-following.
Social skills embedded within academic contexts — group work, classroom participation, peer interaction — not taught in isolation.
Who This Helps
We tailor support to your child's individual autism profile, strengths, and learning targets, not a one-size-fits-all programme.
Many autistic children are in mainstream classrooms with or without an aide — we bridge the gap between the IEP and the actual school day.
We coordinate with school teams, contributing to IEP goals and providing progress notes when needed.
Language-accessible support for the whole family, not just the child.
How It Works
Understanding your child's diagnosis, learning profile, and family goals in your preferred language.
Observation-based assessment of how your child approaches learning tasks, and where support is most needed.
Goals drawn from both ABA frameworks and the BC curriculum, tailored to your child.
Consistent, data-tracked sessions with regular updates for families and schools.
Common Questions
Standard ABA therapy focuses primarily on behaviour goals (communication, daily living, behaviour reduction). Autism learning support extends ABA into academic contexts — reading, maths, writing — with the same evidence-based rigour, but with educational outcomes as the primary target.
No. Support is designed to complement mainstream schooling, not replace it. Sessions happen in the home or at the school itself, and Krisie works collaboratively with teachers and the school team.
No. If your child has social-communication difficulties or learning challenges that suggest ASD, support can begin ahead of a formal diagnosis. Krisie can also assist with signposting to assessment services if needed.
Yes. Krisie is fluent in Cantonese and English, with working Mandarin. Cantonese-medium sessions are available, and parent meetings can always be held in the family's preferred language.
